Geoffrey Mosiria on climate action
Chief Environmental Officer Nairobi county: Geoffrey Mosiria

Climate change is one of most pressing issue facing our planet today. It's effects are widespread and severe, threatening our environment, health and way of life. However by taking small but meaningful actions, we can help slow down the process and protect the planet for future generation thus painting the Nation green.

According to Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria; human beings are an integral part of the environment and hold a huge responsibility to upkeep the living conditions for their own sake and sake of all inhabitants. However, over the recent years the environment has been exploited excessively because of which environment conditions are becoming worse day by day.

Pollution of air, water, modern urbanization, deforestation and release of chemical effluents are some of the major factors that cause the gradual deterioration of environment. Despite Mosiria being named a "devil" by some citizens, he is goal oriented to make sure the strategic plan to plant over 1million trees in a month is achieved.

In additional ,it is necessary to conserve the environment in order to protect wildlife and to preserve the different species with the disastrous pace of climate change a result of pollution and exploitation of environment from any further damage should be the first priority. Bring back the environment to its original state is critically important and it is the only solution.

The Chief Officer of environment has made a commitment to climate action and assures that by 2032 15 billion trees will be planted in abundance. He also urged schools to empower children to plant more trees naming them as green champion green ambassadors.
